Republic Day: Uttarakhand tableau wins first prize; Punjab Regiment named best marching contingent | India News


NEW DELHI: Uttarakhand’s wildlife and religious theme was awarded top prize at this year’s competition republic day parade on Kartavya road.
Meanwhile, the Indian Army’s Punjab Regiment has been rated as the best marching squad among the three services, the government said on Monday.
Gujarat’s scene emerges as nil in the popular choice segment.
The show showcases the state’s religious sites and wildlife during a ceremonial parade on January 26.
In front of the scene, reindeer, deer and various birds are shown in the world famous Corbett National Park. The central part of the scene depicts the animals of Uttarakhand, the musk deer, the national peacock, and the American alligator.
Jageshwar Dham, a group of 125 large and small ancient temples in the Almora district of Manaskhand, and popular deodorizers are displayed in the latter part of the scene.
A total of six branches of the Army including Motorized Infantry Regiment, Punjab Regiment, Maratha Light Infantry Regiment, Dogra Regiment, Bihar Regiment and Gurkha Brigade marched in the parade.

A total of 23 scenes — 17 from the union states and territories and six from various ministries and departments — depict India’s vibrant cultural heritage, economic and social progress The degree took part in the ceremonial parade.
‘Nari Shakti’ is mainly the theme of this year’s Republic Day celebrations.
President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a host of other dignitaries joined the people and members of the armed forces to mark the occasion of August.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi was the main guest at this ceremonial event.
