Report: Kyle Busch driving for Richard Childress Racing in 2023

Kyle BuschThe 15-year run with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) has come to an end. Since signing with the top Toyota team at NASCAR, Busch has won two Cup Series championships and more than 40 races. Now, Busch is about to leave the team for greener pastures.

According to The Athletic’s Jordan Bianchi, Busch will be participating Richard Childress Racing (RCR) with an official announcement made this Tuesday.

When he switched to RCR, his relationship with Toyota was probably coming to an end as well. His truck fleet, Kyle Busch Motorsports (KBM), will either have to switch to RCR’s Chevrolet manufacturer, or consider closing.

KBM currently has three trucks and the drivers are part of the team that is currently contracted with Toyota’s Racing Development program and will have to start thinking about their next move for 2023.

RCR will lose Tyler Reddick, who is currently scheduled to drive for 23XI Racing in 2024. They found a replacement for Busch, and Busch found a home after a failed attempt to sponsor the Las Vegas native forcing him to search outside of JGR .
