Repole buys Great interest in Mo Money Mo Honey

Mike Repole buys most interest in Metropolitan Thoroughbreds Robin Doser and undefeated 3-year-old foal Mo Money Mo Honey (Uncle Mo–Stopshoppingdebbie, by Curlin). The foal was transferred from Benny Feliciano, Jr. for Todd Pletcher.

“It’s a storybook, man. I kept pinching myself. It’s surreal. I’m not sure it’s really happening,” said RJ Bistle, co-owner since 2005 of Metropolitan Moving & Storage in Laurel, who races as Metropolitan Thoroughbreds. “Unbelievable. He made it to New York fine. I’m sure Todd and his team want to look at him and make a decision where to put him.”

Mo Money Mo Honey made just $14,000 at Keeneland’s much-anticipated September 2020 sale. He was injured on a farm in Kentucky, where he was sold. Feliciano found him and Doser and Bistle agreed to split the purchase price of $15,000.

Mo Money Mo Honey has graduated six times long at its Laurel debut July 16 in Laurel. He returned with a six-horse entry allowance on August 14 against older horses and a seven-length round, then beat his elders again with 4 1/4-way long in secondary allowance on September 23 in Pimlico.

“He ran at those times, and he just naturally did it. I don’t even know if he’s a speed horse. I think he’s just talented and he’s just at the forefront,” said Feliciano. “I think he can do either. We evaluated him once and he was fine. The best is yet to come. He can be good if he goes long term. He could be a better horse there. If he can carry that speed, he will be dangerous no matter where he goes.”

“We got offers after all three of his races, and they got bigger as the horse raced with wider interest,” Bistle said. “Our intention was to keep some money and stay with the horse, and doing both allows us to get the benefit of both. We can put some money in our pocket and we can go see the horse race as an owner. It’s the best of both worlds, really. “
