Reliance Retail launches Tira as an online beauty platform

Dependent industry limitation of Retail Reliance launched ‘Tira’ as a new e-commerce platform dedicated to beauty, skin care and hair care as the business strengthens its focus on the rapidly growing beauty market.

Mukesh Ambani has a large scale growth plan for the beauty market

“The platform has a luxury section dedicated to competing directly with nykaa Luxe,” an anonymous executive source close to the development told the ET Bureau. “We deliver products built by experts and backed by industry insiders. Tira is the go-to destination for those looking for unmatched skin care lines or a favorite makeup product.”

Tira will compete with multiple multi-brand beauty retailers in India including Nykaa, SS Beauty and Tata Cliq Palette among others. As branded beauty is a fast growing product category in India, Reliance Industries is keen to tap into this growth opportunity.

In October 2022, Business Standard reported that Reliance Retail was planning to launch its own beauty platform, possibly called ‘Tira Beauty’. The business will also open stores in early 2023 with Jio World Drive in Mumbai being the first possible store opening location. The brand has also planned an online launch for its retail concept.

Reliance Retail has invested in several fashion brands over the past few years including Manish Malhotra and Ritu Kumar among others. By entering the beauty sector, the business will offer a comprehensive fashion and beauty package.
