Redmi 12C global launch date confirmed by Xiaomi, design and specifications revealed before launch: Details

The Redmi 12C launch date has been confirmed by Xiaomi, as the smartphone maker prepares to launch this phone outside of China. The phone will launch later this week, according to the company. Xiaomi also teased the specs and design of the phone ahead of its launch. The smartphone shown has a dual rear camera setup along with an LED flash. The handset is expected to feature a 6.71-inch display and 5,000mAh battery similar to its Chinese counterpart.
Xiaomi Indonesia has announced release date for Redmi 12C via Twitter, helping customers preview the smartphone’s design and specifications ahead of the global launch. According to Xiaomi, the handset will be launched on March 9.
The company has revealed that the Redmi 12C will be equipped with a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel camera, housed with an LED flash. The poster suggests that the phone will come in blue and black color options.
In addition, Xiaomi has also disclosure that the phone will be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC. On the front, the phone is said to have a waterdrop notch at the top to house the selfie camera.
The Redmi 12C global variant is expected to be the same as the Chinese variant already show in December. It comes with a 6.71-inch HD+ screen with a resolution of 1,650×720 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20:6:9 and a maximum brightness of 500nits. The phone is equipped with a 5-megapixel front camera and a dual rear camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary sensor.
The Redmi 12C phone that made its debut in China is equipped with eMMC 5.1 flash memory and the memory can be expanded up to 512GB via microSD card. The phone comes in four color options – Gloss Black, Navy Blue, Mint Green and Lavender in China. It is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support.
