Redesigned model to stick with ICE power

Porsche is testing prototypes for a redesigned Panamera, which is expected to be the last model to feature an internal combustion engine.

The current Panamera, the second generation of the nameplate, debuted in 2017 and was updated for 2021.

Considering the original Panamera has been stuck around for about seven years, we should see this third-generation model launch in the 2024 model year, which means sales should kick off next year.

The redesigned Panamera will be more of a heavy update than a true next-generation vehicle, as it ties in with the MSB platform that debuted on the current Panamera and also underpins the Continental and Bentley’s Flying Spur. However, it will boast a host of updated powertrains.

While more power is on offer, updates to the powertrain are expected to focus on reducing emissions across the board, as well as a combination of increased range and reduced performance. charging time for plug-in hybrid powertrains.

There will be styling changes, though this won’t be as subtle, as is the case with normal Porsches. In particular, the headlights have a more square shape, a change will also be on Cayenne update coming soon. A new interior design to match the Taycan’s more high-tech cabin is also planned.

Porsche is expected to finally launch the redesigned Panamera on the EV platform. Maybe the car will grow in size to target large sedan buyers and offer some differences with the Taycan being only a few inches shorter than the current Panamera.

Porsche in July also confirmed plans to launch a Electric SUV located on Cayenne. The car, which will be the automaker’s seventh line-up, will launch in the second half of the decade.

Ultimately, most Porsches will run on electricity. The automaker estimates more than 80% of its sales will be electric by 2030, with the rest being 911s – will be Porsche the ultimate supply for internal combustion engines.
