Red Sox puts Trevor Story on IL 10 days manually

The Boston Red Sox are in free fall on the AL East leaderboard, having lost eight of their last 11 games at the start of the action Saturday.

If they hope to turn the tide, they will have to do so without starting the second warrior The story of Trevornow.

On Saturday, the Red Sox added Story to its 10-day list of injured hands.

The story leaves Tuesday’s game against the Tampa Bay Rays after getting the ball in the hand from Rays starter Corey Kluber. The X-ray on Story’s arm came back negative, and there’s hope he can return action for the weekend series against the Yankees. However, after missing the last three games, the Red Sox decided to rank Story over IL.

In his first season with the Red Sox, the Story was Polish .221/.289/.423 with 15 home runs and 58 RBIs in 81 games.

After the first six years of his career with the Colorado Rockies, Story Signed a six-year, $140 million free agent contract with the Red Sox ahead of the 2022 season.

Boston recovers captor Connor Wong from Triple-A Worcester to fill a blank in the active list.

Wong hit one hit and one RBI in eight disc appearances for the Red Sox earlier this season. In 60 games for Worcester, Wong Polish .266 / .336 / .408 with six home runs and 22 RBIs.
