Red Dead Redemption 2 broke the record for concurrent players three years after its release on PC. In addition to the new wave of players, Rockstar will have new rewards, seasonal skins, and more for a limited time.
Thanks to SteamDB . Dataas discovered by Eurogamer, we know that on November 27, there were 66,492 concurrent players of Red Dead Redemption 2 on Steam. Before the new record, Red Dead Redemption 2 previously had 55,000 players when it launched on Steam in 2019. The report suggests the new wave of players was due to Steam Autumn Sale that just happened.
In addition to many newcomers logging in for the first time, Rockstar is getting into the Christmas spirit by adding new limited-time activities and rewards. Whenever someone completes the player bounty, they’ll earn 3x Character and Role XP, and those who complete The Covington Emerald will earn double the money and XP between now and January 2nd.
They can also expect snowfall in-game along with Christmas trees near local merchants and gunsmiths. They can also purchase the Krampus Shotgun, and there will be no Rank key between December 12 and January 2. Starting December 15, A Merry Call to Arms participants will earn fold 3 times money and XP until January 2nd.
Players will also be rewarded with a bunch of items by logging into Red Dead Online from December 12 to 26 with the Winter variant of the Evans Repeater. If someone signs in anytime before January 2, they’ll receive a Leather Handbag and the Naturalist who sells samples to Harriet before January 2 will receive a pair of green Salter Shoes .
