Record Rs 3.6cr offers to 3 from Delhi, Bombay, Madras IITs for Hong Kong posting | India News


MUMBAI: Hong Kong and Singapore seem to be the destinations IITians are heading to this recruitment season, with most of the big-ticket offers being offered by commercial companies there. Jane Street, a quantitative trading firm, has selected at least one student each from IIT-Bombay, Delhi and Kanpur for its Hong Kong office with a record package of Rs 3.6 crore.
However, these offers are made available as pre-order offers (PPOs) before the season begins on December 1.
Another high-frequency trading company Quantbox Research has made an offer of Rs 1.6 million at multiple IITs for its Singapore office. The recession-hit US has seen few IT giants put out offers larger than $100 million at these top campuses, although some schools like Cohesity have boarding students for these top campuses. domestic roles and promised to move them to the United States a year later.
A source at IIT-B said: “Although Jane Street has the highest offer for an IIT-Bombay student, there are other PPOs that have made offers to students close to Rs 2 crore.” The campus job offers have yet to hit the Rs 2 billion mark. Another source said: “There are some Rs 1 billion job offers and there are 15 companies with international locations, but most of them are students who are working in their India office because of the problem. Visas for the United States and Japan”. Quantbox Research has offered a role for Rs 1.6 crore.
On the first day of positions, IIT-Bombay had 46 companies interview candidates online or in person. Out of 250 job offers on Day One, more than 175 were accepted. On day 2, a total of 48 companies were present at IIT-B. At IIT Guwahati, Day 2 saw 50 companies lined up to hire talent and more than 80 offers were made until 6pm.
At the end of Day 1, a total of 519 offers were made at IIT-Kanpur. This number includes the 207 PPOs offered so far. The first day saw 488 students secure jobs through accepting PPOs and job offers. The highest year-to-date package in the country is Rs 1.9 crore, while there are plenty of packages from international employers. Last year, the highest domestic package was Rs 1.2 crore. In total, 33 offers over Rs 1 crore were received. So far, IIT Kanpur has received a total of 72 international offers this season, compared to 47 last year. Quantbox Research also visited IIT-Kanpur.
At IIT-Kharagpur, the highest package worth Rs 2.6 crore is offered by a trading company. The Institute had 16 international offers from a variety of disciplines on Day One, and a total of 760 offers were secured, including pre-booked offers.
