Community Racing Together Day was held on Thursday, May 5 and saw record participation. The event, which has been on hiatus due to the pandemic since 2019, is an opportunity for a range of UK racing businesses and charities to get involved and support their communities through activities. local volunteering. More than 65 organizations from around the sport have given their time to help others and it is coordinated by Racing Together. Activities range from remodeling the garden of a local elementary school to cleaning up signs and supporting local food banks.
John Blake, CEO of Racing Together, said, “This is the first Racing Together Community Day since the pandemic, but it’s important to acknowledge that the sport’s voluntary effort hasn’t stopped. during this time even with a lot of disruptions and depleted resources. Community Day is an opportunity for racing teams that enjoy working outside of their usual roles to have a real impact on the local community. We also know that there are philanthropic and community partnerships forming at this point but that usually continues after a day.”
