Officials at Churchill Downs Incorporated reported a new handling record for the GI Longines Kentucky Oaks program Friday at Churchill Downs. Despite the threat of widespread thunderstorms, 100,188 spectators gathered under the historic Twin Spiers to watch coach D. Wayne Lukas win his fifth Kentucky Oaks.
Total bets from all sources across the entire Kentucky Oaks race day card totaled $74.6 million, up 37% from 2021 and up 24% from the previous record in 2019. The all-source bet on Kentucky Oaks itself is $24.3 million, up 40% from 2021 and up 25% from the previous record in 2019.

CDI continues its tradition of using Kentucky Oaks as a platform to raise money for women’s health initiatives, while also welcoming breast and ovarian cancer survivors who have been waiting. to walk in the Parade of Survivors presented by Kroger. 148 survivors joined charity partners and volunteers from Norton Healthcare’s Horses and Hope Program and the Kentucky Cancer Program, to walk directly on Churchill Downs’ newly installed turf.
