Record all betting sources for Derby 149

Officials at Churchill Downs reported that all sources bets on Saturday’s Kentucky Derby program were $288.7 million, easily beating the previous record of $273.8 million set on last year. All sources bets on the Kentucky Derby alone are $188.7 million, up from the previous mark of $179 million, also reached last year. All sources processed for the full week leading up to Run for the Roses on Saturday was $412 million, beating last year’s record of $391.8 million.

This year’s Derby has a field of 18 people and an announced audience of 150,335. This is the race’s first renewal to introduce Churchill’s new ‘First Turn Experience’, a stand of its own at the clubhouse turn.

“We are excited to launch our new First Turn Experience, a one-of-a-kind luxury accommodation with exclusive views of the horses and track from the first turn’s tracks, as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Secretariat’s victory in Bill Carstanjen, said the CEO of CDI. “We expect adjusted EBITDA during Kentucky Derby Week to reflect a new record of $14 to $16 million in growth over the previous record set last year. We will now intensify our focus on our year-long celebration in preparation for the 150th Kentucky Derby in May 2024.”
