Two years ago, 8-year-old Reagan Ingordo bought a weaning daughter from The best for $25,000 at the November sale at Keeneland. Buyer rewarded her young buyer with her first career win at the Fair Grounds on Sunday, but Reagan wasn’t the only winner when Reagan’s Decision (The best) crossed the first rope in New Orleans. Before the race, coach (and stepmother) Cherie DeVaux tweeted that any money made from the race would be donated to relief efforts following the devastating tornado in Western Kentucky.
Visiting Reagan’s Decision on Fair Grounds on Monday morning, Reagan explained why she’s donating to recovery efforts.
“We want to give back to people who lost their homes,” she explains. “It’s good to help the community. We may all need help someday. “
Reagan is the daughter of David Ingordo.
“She was very fit and very athletic,” Reagan explained. Before the glittery 10-year-old showed up and she laughed and added, “And she’s so cute.”
When asked for her father’s advice when shopping in the store, Reagan said, “He taught me to make sure they have good feet and good parents.”
Reagan’s decision to be taken as an 18-1 long shot was taken lightly when she came to post at the Fair Grounds Sunday, but her owners had a lot of faith in this juvenile.
“She’s been training really well for the race, so I think she’s going to win,” Reagan said. “And also because she’s fast.”
Reagan’s decision proved to be not only quick, but also miserly as she struggled to find a spot to race on the ramp before slamming into the center of the course and closing the chubby door to just head forward. on the wire (videotapes).
Reagan admitted to being a little nervous as she made her way through the traffic, but in the end, “I’m really happy and excited,” she said.
Reagan reported that the Reagan Decision looked good on Monday morning.
“She looked fine this morning,” Reagan said. “She’s going to be in a allowance race next.”
