RattanIndia Enterprises completes acquisition of electric bicycle maker Revolt Motors


RattanIndia Enterprises Limited has completed the acquisition of electric motorcycle maker Revolt Motors, the company announced in a regulatory filing. Revolt Motors, founded by Rahul Sharma, co-founder of Micromax mobiles, is the largest e-bike manufacturer in the country. It has over 30 dealers and a manufacturing facility in Manesar, Haryana.

RattanIndia Enterprises currently holds a 100% stake in Revolt Motors and says it aims to significantly scale up the two-wheeler company’s growth in the coming years. The manufacturer is currently retailing the RV400 electric motorcycle, which comes with AI technology and online updates. Revolt says its electric motorcycle has completed more than 20 million kilometers on Indian roads.

Speaking of the completion of the transaction, Anjali Rattan, Business President of RattanIndia Enterprises, said: “The country needs environmentally sustainable mobility solutions and Revolt will undoubtedly lead the way in this transition. . We are delighted and fully prepared to make Revolt the largest EV motorcycle company in the country.”

The Revolt RV400 promises a significantly lower cost of ownership than comparable gasoline-powered commuter motorcycles. It comes with a 3.24 kWh lithium-ion battery that offers a range of 150 km on a single charge and a top speed of 85 km/h. The battery can be fully charged in four hours.

RV400 was launched in 2019 and already has a leading advantage in the electric motorcycle segment. Electric motorcycles have not been fully updated since their appearance. With the acquisition, RattanIndia says it aims to build an eco-friendly, sustainable ecosystem and help accelerate the use of electric vehicles in the country.
