Kirk & Rasheeda Get Real About Their Relationship
The couple revealed their secret to lasting love and happiness while stepping into The Shade Room at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on September 11.
The stars of ‘Love and Hip Hop’ had an open conversation with TSR’s Thembi.
Kirk explains that the key is to maintain love, which requires both of them to overcome many challenges and sufferings together.
“You have to understand that you’re going to face a lot of criticism from people telling you how you should be in a relationship. You have to have a friendship, and you have to understand that things aren’t going to be perfect. It’s about a team. It’s like a team thing,” Kirk said.
However, Rasheeda emphasizes that communication and mutual understanding are key for her.
“Just because you marry someone doesn’t mean you know them like you should or understand them like you should. And over the years, I guess because we’ve been together for such a long time, you know that you’re going to grow and change in life as you get older, and you’re open to that,” Rasheeda says.
Additionally, the reality TV stars also kept it real when asked about how they felt about reliving certain moments on ‘Love & Hip Hop.’ Roommates, as you may know, the duo’s relationship continues on the show to this day!
Kirk said he handled things well when he first joined the show, but he was unprepared for what was coming.
Kirk added that as he changed, his wife changed too and her needs were no longer the same.
When Rasheeda was asked about her current needs, the rapper simply replied: “I like buildings and things, and houses,” she said with a laugh “The waffle shop used to sell french fries.”

Recently, their conversation with Jasmine Bleu went viral after it aired on the show. To add to that, Kirk had a son named Kannon with Jasmine during his marriage to Rasheeda.
The clip shows the trio discussing how to get along and effectively raise their children together, with Kirk telling Jasmine she can call him “anytime” for help with their son.
Tensions escalated when Kirk accused Jasmine of wearing her birthday suit when he picked up Kannon. Jasmine denied the accusation and clarified that she did not delete any text messages between them.
