Fans have figured out how to make the Master Sword “unbreakable” through an incredibly long and complicated glitching process, and YouTuber The Duende 05 recorded the steps in an hour long video. Yes, one hour (Thank, Reading and writing!).
El Duende 05 says that many people, much People helped discover this bug, which allowed you to get the “Prologue Master Sword” or “MsgNotFound”, which is a version of the Master Sword that never runs out of energy.
This error chain includes steps like dropping your Travel Medal at specific coordinates, sending your weapon and shield back to the beginning, cutting out of bounds multiple times, creating a new save file, and making sure autosave doesn’t break anything. Those are just a few of the small steps you need to take to get MsgNotFound. Oh dear…
In fact, it took over a year to find it again—and we say found because the sword was found shortly after Tears of the Kingdom launched in May 2023. But the original method for obtaining it was patched by Nintendo. This new method—for version 1.2.1 of the game—means that fans have gotten their incredibly powerful sword back. It just took a long time and much of effort, patience and courage.
