After one year The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom build, we thought we’d seen everything Hyrule had to offer. But then we saw someone turn the Gerudo Desert into Tattooine’s Podracing scene, and suddenly we started to wonder if we’d explored the full potential of this game.
Forget Anakin Skywalker, Sebulba, Ben Quadinaros, Teemto Pagalies or any of the other funny-named racers from Star Wars – Episode I: The Phantom MenaceBecause there’s a new speedster in town: Link.
A creative builder, @saiotoko002took Boonta Eve Classic’s iconic high-octane Podracing and brought it to Hyrule in stunning Ultrahand styling. In addition to Link’s race car — which bears a notable resemblance to the one driven by baby Anni — the build also includes a smaller competitor driven by a Korok.
The builder even showed off their latest design with some flashy camera angles and a few explosions thrown in for good measure (Koroks used to was harmed while making this video). Yes, it comes with ‘Duel of the Fates’ instead of the classic Podracing sound effects, but we’re willing to forgive.
Not so bad, right? We’ll add this to the list of weird builds we’ve seen in TOTK, along with builds like Godzilla, Metal Gear, Guns, and even an additional device in the game. God, do you remember when motorcycles looked cool?
