Rancho Temescal’s Cohen Appointed to TOC Board of Directors

The Purebred Owners of California (TOC) Board of Directors unanimously appointed Tim Cohen to fill the board vacancy left by the recent resignation of Mike Harrington. By law, Cohen would be required to run in the 2023 board elections.

Cohen, owner of Rancho Temescal in Ventura County, Ca., operated by Rancho Temescal LLC, frequently in partnership with his father, Jed Cohen’s, Red Baron’s Barn LLC. Prior to managing Rancho Temescal, Cohen worked in the hospitality industry, managing luxury hotels and restaurants.

“I look forward to joining the Board and working harder to improve racing in California for all stakeholders,” Cohen said.

Red Baron’s Barn LLC and Rancho Temescal LLC were the top owners at the 2021/2022 Winer-Spring Santa Anita meeting. They currently own more than 75 purebreds with 55 currently in training. Rancho Temescal LLC, in partnership with others, lobbied for top horses including Class 1 winner River Boyne (IRE) and Class 2 winner Sharp Samurai.
