Rajasthan Budget: Free Electricity, Cooking Gas At Rs 500

Announcing the Rs 19,000 bailout, Rajasthan’s Minister Ashok Gehlot on Friday revealed his state’s final budget ahead of Parliamentary elections later this year.
Here is your 10th scorecard for the Rajasthan Budget:

Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana, the leading health insurance scheme, has been increased from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 25,000 per household annually.

More than 11,000 farmers across Rajasthan will receive free electricity up to 2,000 units per month. Domestic consumers will receive 100 pieces per month.

Free meals and food packages will be provided to about 100 families under the National Food Security Act.

About 760,000 families under the Under Poverty Level (BPL) and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will receive LPG cylinders for Rs 500.

Students will be provided with milk daily at lunchtimes.

Employees of state government boards, corporations, academies and universities employed before January 1, 2004 will be covered by the Old Pension Plan (OPS).

Amid the paper leak controversy, the state has proposed a one-time registration for competitive exams for job applicants.

A welfare fund of Rs 200 crore will be established for those working in the gig economy.
