Raiders, Jaguars to open pre-season in the game Hall of Fame


The new NFL year kicks off until March 16, but now we know which two teams will open their schedules ahead of the 2022 season.

Each Grant Gordon of the league’s website, the NFL confirmed Monday that the Las Vegas Raiders and Jacksonville Jaguars will begin the pre-season when they face each other in this year’s Hall of Fame Game in Canton, Ohio on Thursday, August 4. Former wide-fielder Cliff Branch and defensive midfielder Richard Seymour, along with former Jaguars tackle Tony Boselli, will be inducted into the 2022 Hall of Fame class on August 6.

Based on Michael DiRocco of ESPN and Associated Press, this will be the 4th time Raid gamers participate in the Arena of Fame game. Jacksonville has so far only appeared in the game once, back in 1995 when they were an expansion franchise.

Interestingly, both teams will have head coaches debuting their clubs. Jaguar to rent former Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson earlier this month, while The Raiders have turned to former New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels.

The Hall of Fame game takes place at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton.
