British passenger car construction company Radford has been revived and their first modern project is a classic sports car inspired by the Lotus Type 62.
Called Lotus Type 62-2 built by RadfordLimited edition sports car based on the platform of the Lotus Evora and was first shown last August. Radford then followed up last December with a top release Dubbed John Player Special.
Radford plans to start delivering the vehicle later this year, but before production kicks off the company has announced several key upgrades. These include a lightweight subframe and vertical suspension from Rock Engineering, which helps reduce the vehicle’s weight. The engine is now also lower and closer to the center of gravity thanks to tweaks made by JUBU Performance, which further optimizes the center of gravity. A new dry sump lubrication system and custom exhaust have also been fitted, which improves power.

No new performance numbers have been released. According to the manual, the company previously announced that the base Classic model will have 430 hp, the mid-range Gold Leaf with 500 hp and the John Player Special topping out with 600 hp. In each case, there’s the familiar 3.5-liter supercharged V-6 shared with sponsor Evora.
