Wales & the West came from behind in a dramatic finale at Newcastle to claim the Racing League title thanks to a remarkable 6500/1 treble from Saffie Osborne.
With 36 points ahead of leaders London & The South at night, Wales & The West needed some big results in the seven-race hand at Gosforth Park.
They sent a strong team north for the finale of this year’s team competition, but it was Osborne who was the star of the show, riding three consecutive winners – the final two started off with billions. Very big odds are 40/1 and 28/1.

Team Ireland played their Joker for race two in the evening at Gosforth Park, but it was Wales & The West that came out on top with a competition favorite.
Tregonythe 9/2 favorite, had a third straight win in the competition under Saffie Osborne, adding 25 points to the team’s total.
