Darvin Ham is the new head coach of Los Angeles Lakers. It was a high, high-pressure gig for a 48-year-old with no prior NBA head coach experience. One of his new assignments is to figure out the best way to deploy Russell Westbrook. On Monday, Ham held his first press conference, and with Russ watching intently, he discussed he sees what role the former MVP will play for LA next season. “Don’t mess it up, Russell Westbrook is one of the best players our league has ever seen and there’s still a lot of stuff in the bin. “But then he hinted at his specific expectations for the 33-year-old keeper. “Russ and I had some really, really great face-to-face dialogue, man, and the biggest word that I think comes out of that, those discussions, is sacrifice.” It’s not yet clear what sacrifice Russ is willing to make, but if nothing else, it probably will. there’s no shortage of drama in LA again next year.
