Qordle like Wordle is now owned by Merriam-Webster
Last year, word puzzle words scanned through family WhatsApp groups around the planet and was quickly grabbed by the New York Times. Following its success, several other Wordle-inspired games became popular, including Quordle, in which you try to discover four words at once.
Well, now it’s Quordle’s turn to be acquired, as it was acquired by Merriam-Webster.
“I’m happy to announce that Quordle has been acquired by @MerriamWebster,” tweeted Quoorderle account. “I can’t think of a better home for this game. Lots of new and exciting features coming soon, so stay tuned!”.
In Quordle, you have nine guesses to determine four five-letter words. Everything you type appears on all four panels, with the correct letters highlighted in yellow or green if they are also in the correct places. After that, it was a simple turn for Wordle, but it required a different set of strategies and it was harder to win.
Like the New York Times, 192-year-old dictionary maker Merriam-Webster played at home with some other language games.
I was totally obsessed with Wordle clones last year, including world, Meaning, nerdand squid. However, I’m free now.
