BIRMINGHAM: Olympic badminton doubles medalist PV Sindhu was named the flag bearer of the Indian team on Wednesday for the opening ceremony of the The game of commonwealth starting on Thursday.

History of India at the Commonwealth Games
A total of 164 athletes will participate in the opening ceremony which will be held on Thursday.
A total of 215 athletes from India will compete in the Commonwealth Games.
A former world champion, Sindhu is one of the favorites to win the women’s singles gold medal at Birminghamwon silver and bronze in the two most recent editions at Gold Coast and Glasgow.
Sindhu was also the flag bearer at the 2018 Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast.
