Many boxing fans have concluded that Golden Boy didn’t want Ryan to fight Pitbull Cruz because he was too dangerous, especially when their boxer had to take a long break and injured his arm.

In contrast, the best win on Ryan’s résumé was British boxer Luke Campbell, who was defeated by Vasily Lomachenko, Jorge Linares and Yvan Mendy.
Gibbons questions whether De La Hoya believes Ryan
Last Thursday, De La Hoya posted on Twitter saying that Pitbull Cruz (22-2-1, 15 KOs) is said to have turned down a “fat “ offers to fight Ryan Garcia, which Oscar attributes to more than he did for his final fight against Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis on December 5 on Showtime PPV.
De La Hoya said, “It’s a pity that the Pitbull Cruz team refused a very lucrative offer, much more than he did with the Tank. ”
Sean Gibbons of Manny Pacquiao Promotion noted the above comment from De La Hoya and replied to Oscar that he is offering a “Lie” in his attempt to show Ryan that he’s trying to put the fight together.
Gibbons is letting Ryan Garcia know that De La Hoya isn’t telling the truth about the “fatal” offer that Oscar claims they turned down.
Instead of Ryan testing himself by talking to Gibbons, he taunted Pitbull Cruz, saying, “I guess he’s more like a Chihuahua than a Pitbull. ”
The way Ryan quickly gave up his fight with Pitbull Cruz without checking first with the instigators to push to finish it shows that he doesn’t want that smoke from the tough Mexican boxer.
“Oscar, when you’re ready to negotiate in good faith, we’re happy to discuss giving this fight the foundation it deserves. On Pay-Per-View, with a legitimate network. Don’t you believe Ryan Garcia is ready to become a pay-per-view star? ” Sean Gibbons said on social media.
The CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Leonard Ellerbe, was not surprised that negotiations between Ryan and Pitbull Cruz were unsuccessful as he had predicted in advance that the Golden Boy would not let this fight take place.

If Ryan wants this fight with Cruz, it’s there for him, but it just doesn’t look right right now. The negotiations appear to have reached an impasse, and the Golden Boy is still continuing.
Giving up on that quickly shows that De La Hoya never wanted to fight for Ryan, and you can’t blame him. Ryan will likely be a BIG underdog against Cruz, and he might need a miracle to win.
