Progress 89 spacecraft delivers supplies to astronauts stranded on the ISS

A cargo spacecraft has arrived at the International Space Station (ISS) to deliver food, fuel and other necessities to those on board.

The ISS is currently home to the Expedition 71 crew and two NASA astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, who are stranded on the station due to safety concerns about the Boeing Starliner spacecraft designed to take them home.

The unmanned Progress 89 spacecraft delivered about three tons of supplies.

NASA said the spacecraft will stay there for about six months before departing to re-enter Earth’s atmosphere to dispose of the waste.
