Prince William met US President Joe Biden for a “warm, friendly and substantive discussion” before hosting his environmental award ceremony.
Kensington Palace says the president is keen to learn about William Earthshot Award and some stories of the finalists when the pair met at the JFK Library.
The Prince of Wales also thanked the president for coming to London for the funeral of his paternal grandmother, the Queen, in September, and the two shared memories of the late monarch.
In an article published a few hours before the ceremony in the American city of Boston, William describes himself as a “stubborn optimist”.
He said he wanted to “enhance” the impact of his Earthshot Award finalists to inspire a “world in despair” that there is always a way forward.

Writing in the Huffington Post, the future king said of the finalists: “The Earthshot Awards want to find the best of them. He said: “We face a seemingly insurmountable challenge when it comes to sending a man to the moon: reversing the damage already done to our planet and putting ourselves on a path towards a better future. more sustainable future.
