Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time remake not canceled but pre-orders refunded

By Ubisoft Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time the remake is expected to come out in 2021, slide into 2022 and most recently has been delayed indefinitely. Now Ubisoft has created a FAQ page dedicated to answering the question they constantly get: no, they say, Sands Of Time is not being cancelled.

Here’s the original announcement trailer:

“Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake is not canceled,” Say Frequently asked questions page, their emphasis. “The game is currently in development at Ubisoft MontrĂ©al.”

The page also explains that they have no plans to remake any other games in the Prince Of Persia series, which is certainly disappointing for some Warrior Within fans. Plus, because Sands Of Time currently doesn’t have a release date, pre-orders “have been canceled and refunded if available,” Ubisoft said.

The original Sands Of Time remake was Ubisoft’s first game to be led by their studio in India, but with the most recent indefinite delay, major development duties have been handed over to Ubisoft. Montreal. At the time, the new development team said they would “build on the work already achieved” by Ubisoft Pune and Ubisoft Mumbai, indicating they were not restarting the project.

Prince Of Persia isn’t the only game that Ubisoft has announced that has either since released AWOL or been severely delayed. Beyond Good & Evil 2 is the most remarkable with 14 years of development.

The original of sand time still available, of course. Back in 2003, it was a third-person platformer that removed all frustration from the genre by allowing you to rewind time after any missteps. I wonder if it is kept.
