Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making sure their kids know who their grandma is. In the touching footage provided by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in the first episode of their Netflix documentary series, a child once Archie looking at a photo of her late grandmother, Diana Princess, hang on Wall. Meghan is hugging Archie and saying, “Hey, grandma.”
Archie, now 3, babbles a bit and touches a picture of Princess Diana on the wall. “It’s yours Mrs. Diana,” Megan whispered to Archie. Little Archie continued to touch the framed photo.
“I accept that there will be people around the world who fundamentally disagree with what I did and how I did it, but I know that I have to do everything I can to protect my family.” Harry said. “Especially after what happened to my mother. You know, I don’t want history to repeat itself.”
Prince Harry lost his mother when he was 12 years old. Princess Diana passed away in a car crash in Paris after being chased by the paparazzi. She was 36 years old.

Prince Harry also revealed in the second episode of the documentary series that some members of the royal family thought the way Meghan was treated was normal. “WWhat people need to understand is, for many of her family members, everything she’s been through, they’ve had to go through too,” Prince Harry said. “So it’s almost like a rite of passage. Some family members said, ‘But my wife had to go through it. So why should your girlfriend be treated differently? Why should you get special treatment? Why should she be protected?’ And I said, ‘The difference here is race.’”
After getting married in 2018 and welcoming their first child Archie, the couple decided to step back from their senior royal role in January 2020. Meghan had previously admitted that she had suicidal thoughts while pregnant with Archie. To protect their family, Harry and Meghan have moved to California, where they currently live.
