Prince Harry thinks it would be cool to be a midfielder (Canadian)

On Sunday, Prince Harry appeared on Canadian network TSN to promote the upcoming 2025 Invictus Games taking place in Vancouver and Whistler this February. During a sideline appearance during the Gray Cup championship between the Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Toronto Argonauts, he explained why games for injured service members continue to thrive more than a decade after he helped found it.

“This year is our 10th anniversary, which is pretty exciting. The Invictus movement started back in 2014 and it is a sports platform used to rehabilitate and support wounded warriors—both military and veterans,” he explains. “This is truly an opportunity for individuals and their families to heal and restore health through sport.”

For this segment, he was joined by Van Song Nie, a competitor in the Olympics who discussed her own experience with PTSD after her service.

Harry declined to make a prediction about Sunday’s match but said he was looking forward to returning to Canada. “This time we are less than three months away from returning for the opening ceremony in February,” he said. He also discussed his interest in North American soccer and mentioned the position he would play if drafted into the Canadian Football League. “I think the quarterback is a great place to be.”

Coincidentally, his choice for that position had something in common with his brother, Prince William. Last monthWilliam attended a youth skills clinic of the National Football League’s UK branch, where he showed off his football skills and took a lesson in throwing it like a coin guard.
