Prime accused in Bogtui killings ‘found hanging’ in CBI office | India News

KOLKATA: The main defendant in the arson and violence case in bogtui village of BengaliBirbhum district, which in March claimed at least 10 lives, was found “hanged” on Monday in a makeshift office set up in Rampurhat plain CBIa source in the central agency said.
He was arrested earlier this month from a hideout along the Bengal-Jharkhand border.
The CBI source alleges that the defendant’s body was found in the restroom of the office the agency had set up in a guesthouse in Rampurhat.
The source also said it was like a “suicide case”.
“The body of the main defendant in the Bogtui violence was found hanged in the restroom of the guesthouse, where we set up a makeshift camp, at around 4:30 pm. We informed the police. and all necessary procedures are underway,” the source CBI told PTI.
At least 10 people were killed in the arson and violence that followed the local murder TMC leader Bhadu Sheikh on March 21. CBI is investigating the incident at the behest of Calcutta . Supreme Court.
