Now comes the hard part for Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez.
The bantamweight champion from San Antonio is not widely known as he wowed the boxing world by knocking out Carlos Cuadras and stopping Srisaket Sor Rungvisai in consecutive bouts this year.
Now, Rodriguez is where Cuadras and Sor Rungvisai used to live, topping the £115 weight class. And like them, he now has a target behind him.
That new momentum begins on the Canelo Alvarez-Gennadiy Golovkin card on Saturday in Las Vegas, where he will defend his belt against Israel Gonzalez.
