Concord’s Early Access Beta is coming soon! All of us at Firewalk are excited to finally welcome you all to the Concord galaxy. We can’t wait to see who your new protagonists and favorite Freegunners are, or what combos and strategies you’ll create as you build your crew. Most importantly, we can’t wait to queue up and play with you!
Before we enter both the Early Access and Open Beta phases, we want to share some important information with you like when you can pre-download, when the servers will be live, some of the rewards you can earn for participating, etc. So, let’s dive in!
Concord Beta Early Access (July 12 – 14) and Open Beta (July 18 – 21)¹
The Concord Beta Early Access Weekend on PS5 and PC begins tomorrow, Friday, July 12, at 10 a.m. PDT. If you’re playing on PS5, you can pre-download the Concord Beta starting today, Thursday, July 11 at 10 a.m. PDT.
Pre-ordering any version of Concord will also get you access to the Early Access Beta weekend, as well as four additional codes that you can share with your friends so you can team up with your own crew and battle rival crews together. Your additional codes will be for the same platform you pre-ordered on. We’re also excited that PlayStation Plus is inviting all members to participate in the Early Access Beta weekend. Just look for the option to download and play the beta when you boot up your PS5.
Our Open Beta will begin next week, from Thursday, July 18 at 10am PDT, through Sunday, July 21. You can also pre-download it on PS5 starting Wednesday, July 17 at 10am PDT.
Learn about the Concord Galaxy
In Early Access and Open Beta, all 16 of our launch Freegunners will be unlocked and available to play and customize. Whether you want to snipe from a distance, lock down an area, support your teammates, or… just dive headfirst into the fray, our Freegunners roster has something for everyone. It’s been a minute since we reviewed Freegunners of the North Star, so we’re also sharing our first Vignette in Early Access Beta and can’t wait for you to learn more about the crew and their neat ship.
We’ll have three modes, Clash Point, Trophy Hunt, and Cargo Run, available to play during the Early Access Beta week. It’s important to us when developing Concord that we have modes for everyone, so whether you’re looking to queue up for a quick round of Trophy Hunt or want to prove that you and your crew have the best strategy to get a Blue Buddy in Cargo Run, there’ll be something for everyone. There will also be four maps you can explore and play: Freewater, Star Chamber, Water Hazard, and Shock Risk.
As we enter Open Beta next week, we’ll also be adding a new mode, Area Control, and a new map, Bone Mines. Check it out. Initial beta announcement to learn a little more about each map and game mode included in our Beta weeks.
Beta Rewards
If you plan to join us for both Early Access and Open Beta, your progress will carry over between weeks. However, please note that your progress from any Beta will not carry over to our official launch on August 23rd.
The life of a Freegunner is all about taking on high-risk missions with your crew and reaping the rewards, so as a thank you, you’ll receive a few rewards for participating: the Frog Weapon Charm (Frog, which stands for “From Orbit to Ground”, and is the name of the Northstar lander, is not an actual frog, but everyone’s favorite amphibian), the Star Flare Emblem, and a Business Card.
PC Beta Specifications and Features
The Concord Beta Early Access weekend and Open Beta weekend will support cross-play so you can play with friends on both PS5 and PC. For PC players, we’re excited to share the system specs and some supported features for the Concord Beta on PC:
