Pregnant woman thrown to death in 100 MPH crash, BF charged


Adriana Sylmetaja pregnant 23-year-old woman and her unborn child died in an accident caused by her partner Adem Nikeziq drunk driving a Dodge Challenger at more than 100 mph in Staten Island.

The Albanian couple’s car collided with a power pole, causing Sylmetaj to be thrown from the car and the car to break into three pieces. The accident happened on Hylan Avenue around 4:45 a.m. Saturday, according to police, New York Post Office report.

Nikeziq, 30, now faces charges including manslaughter, negligent homicide, reckless endangerment and DWI, according to an NYPD spokesman.

Pregnant woman’s boyfriend shows signs of being drunk

According to a spokesman, Adem Nikeziq was transferred to Staten Island University North Hospital after police noticed signs of intoxication.

A register at Buy Buy Baby in the names of Nikeziq and Sylmetaj says they are expecting a baby girl on April 12. Medical professionals were unfortunately unable to save the unborn child after the car crash.

Adriana Sylmetaj is from Brooklyn but graduated from New Dorp High School on Staten Island and was previously enrolled at the College of Staten Island, according to her Facebook page. Her work history includes working at the Pleasant Plains Animal Hospital of the South and NYU Langone Health, as stated in her profile.
