Yellow Whistle (GB)winner of the outstanding G1 Derby and European Horse of the Year in 2015, will take up steed duties at Overbury Stud after being sold to new investors Dash Grange Stud from Darley and Anthony Oppenheimer.

The move will see Golden Horn, who has singled out 13 individual winners in the UK and Ireland jumps, marketed as a dual-purpose stallion.

Golden Horn is best remembered for making Derby glory under Frankie Dettori in 2015. He was crowned by an epic victory from Irish Derby hero then Jack Hobbs (GB), with whom he will now side. at Overbury Stud.

Coached by John Gosden during his glittering career, Golden Horn retired to Dalham Hall Stud with an impressive Group 1 record.

Along with winning the Derby in 2015, Golden Horn landed Coral-Eclipse at Sandown, Irish champions S.

His last dance on a racecourse was when he fought after Found (Ire) in the Breeders’ Cup Turf in that same season.

While the Golden Horn has picked up a good level of intelligence from the smart horses on the Plane, he has made quite an impressive impact from the limited number of jumps, as evidenced by the fact that 13 of his 22 run in that ball have won at least once.

In fact, 7 of those 13 individual winners have recorded official ratings of 120 or higher, with the three-time scorer First Street ranking a nice prospect after finishing second in County Hurdle for Nicky Henderson last season.

The Byzantine Empire coached by Fergal O’Brien (GB) is two from two over the fence, with his most recent victory being in Perth on Tuesday, while Stag Horn (GB) and Trapista (Fr) ) are also the winners in the number of jumps for the sire.

The son of Cape Cross (Ire) in Dubai Destination mare Fleche D’Or (GB), Golden Horn wrote a three-figure book during his final season at Dalham Hall Stud, for a fee of £10,000. Older brother.

Dash Grange Stud, owned by Jayne McGivern, purchased the Golden Horn privately in a deal brokered by Blandford Bloodstock.

Blandford’s Richard Brown commented: “I can’t recall a better middle-distance performer in recent years than Golden Horn. He is an absolute star on the track for John Gosden and his team at Clarehaven. He is one of only three horses, along with Mill Reef and Sea The Stars (Ire), won the Derby, Eclipse S. and Arc.

“Overbury Stud has built an excellent reputation in recent years for the development and production of stallions under both codes. Golden Horn is a great addition to their roster. “

Golden Horn has stood at Dalham Hall for seven seasons and Sam Bullard, the stallion director at Darley, wishes his newfound relationships good luck with the stallion.

He said, “On behalf of Anthony Oppenheimer and the entire Darley team, we would like to wish Golden Horn and his new relationships the best of luck. At Overbury, he will be given the best chance to excel in the years to come. “
