Positive Grid’s Spark Amplifier It’s useful for practicing musicians, but its size and weight aren’t practical if you’re stuck in your bedroom or out of your studio. Thankfully, the company now has a mobile option. Positive yes disclosure a Spark Mini amplifier that promises to have the digital functionality of its larger brother in a much smaller design (about six inches across) that you can take with you wherever you want to play. The 10W unit acts as a Bluetooth speaker and is said to deliver “powerful” bass through a downward-facing booster – there’s even a changeable grille to personalize the look.
Connected features remain the focus. The Spark mobile app can automatically generate accompaniments as you play, show chords for any song (including slows if you want to learn a piece), and provide any among more than 10,000 free guitar tunes. The Spark Mini includes 33 amp samples, 43 effects, and a USB interface (on the nearly mandatory 1/4-inch guitar input and 8-inch aux input) for transferring your performances to creative software. Battery useful up to eight hours.
Positive hasn’t mentioned pricing for the Spark Mini yet, but it will be available for pre-order in March. It’s safe to say that this tiny amp will cost less than its $299 full-size counterpart. , potentially making it a better value if price and versatility are more important than raw capacity.
