Mandy Pope went up against Chad Brown, who was bidding on behalf of Peter Brant, to take home a Tapit out of MSW & GSP Danzatrice (Dunkirk) (Hip 603) for $1.1 million during the opening of Book 2 in Keeneland Wednesday. Chestnuts were bred and sold by Gainesway. She is the younger half-sister of champion Jaywalk (Cross Traffic). Pope bought this girl’s full brother at auction last year for $1.3 million with Gainesway staying to buy a piece. He is now named Tapit Trice and is training with Todd Pletcher.
