Polish Army receives the first batch of futuristic combat vehicles for testing

According to a spokesman for the Armed Services of the Ministry of Defense of Poland, the Polish Armed Forces will receive four more prototypes of the new Borsuk amphibious infantry fighting vehicle.

“As part of research and development work at the National Research and Development Center, four additional Borsuk IFV prototypes were contracted,” said Krzysztof Płatek.

In a tweet, Płatek added that preliminary testing of the existing prototype is nearing completion.

The Borsuk (Badger) is a modern tracked infantry fighting vehicle intended to safely transport crew and soldiers to the battlefield. It is manufactured by a consortium led by Huta Stalowa Wola (HSW), a subsidiary of the Polish Armed Forces Corporation (Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa, PGZ).

Borsuk will be capable of navigating obstacles on water by floating, highly maneuverable and capable of operating in different terrain and atmospheric conditions, with a high degree of ballistic protection and suitable mines. The construction of the new IFV will make it possible to transport infantry squads as well as install basic cal firing systems. 30 to 40 mm cannon with integrated PPK.

The ZSSW-30 turret, manufactured using the capabilities of Polish industry, uses locally developed solutions, including but not limited to PCO-manufactured optical and aiming systems. and the integrated launcher of the anti-tank missile “Spike”, also made in Poland.
