New Delhi:

PB Fintech, the parent company of Policybazaar Insurance Brokers Private Ltd, on Sunday said its IT systems were hacked on July 19 and remedial action was subsequently taken.

The company identified certain vulnerabilities on July 19 in a part of Policybazaar Insurance Broker IT systems that resulted in illegal and unauthorized access to the network.

In this regard, Policybazaar has contacted the appropriate authorities and is taking recourse according to the law.

The information security team is currently looking into the matter with external advisors.

“While we are in the process of reviewing the details, to date our review has found that no critical customer data has been exposed. Policybazaar has always prioritized security and integrity of its systems and commitment to protecting customer data”. It says.

Policybazaar operates in the insurance brokerage business and stores a great deal of data about its policyholders, including their transaction details.
