Police say a shooting by a driver in Atlanta left 8 people under the age of 21 injured



A group of about 12 people were gathering in the parking lot of a Shell gas station when a vehicle pulled into the parking lot and opened fire from inside the vehicle, a police spokesman said. CNN affiliate WXIA-TV. A total of eight people, including six women aged 16 to 21, and two men, aged 18 and 21, were shot.
In a statement, The Atlanta Police Department said the shooter or shooter has not been identified at this time and that the incident is still under investigation.

All of the victims went to the hospital shortly after the shooting happened, according to a police statement. A motorist hit the police car around 1 a.m. Sunday and told officers that four people in the vehicle had been shot, the statement said. Police escorted the victims to Piedmont Hospital.

Two other victims of a similar shooting also went to Piedmont Hospital for treatment. Police say the six victims are in stable condition.

Two other victims arrived at Emory First Hospital in critical condition and were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital.
