Pokémon TCG: Sword & Shield – Astral Radiance | The coolest cards we obtained from booster packs

The trading card game Pokémon is back with a second expansion in 2022, and this time, despite the Sword & Shield nomenclature on the box, I’m excited for the Pokémon that appear in games like Pokémon Legend: Arceus. This expansion adds over 180 new cards, including 3 new Pokémon Radiant, 8 Pokémon VStar, 21 Pokémon V, and 2 Pokémon VMax cards. On top of that, Astral Radiance offers 30 cards with special art in the Trainer Gallery subset, as well as over 20 Trainer cards.

The Pokémon Company sent us a lot of booster packs so we could see what we got from this latest addition to the TCG. I was surprised not only by the Pokémon Radiant I pulled, but also by the amount of Pokémon Hisuian that appeared in Pokémon Legends: Arceus. I love the Decidueye and Typhlosion cards I’ve secured through these booster packs, as well as the various mastery and noble Pokémon I recognize from my time in Hisui. If you’re hoping to round out your personal collection with more Galar Pokémon, don’t worry, as I still found some creatures from the Gen VIII main region.

My favorite card, however, is probably the one with a Pokémon that I didn’t expect to be so excited about: Hoothoot. This serene art-filled Battle Region card immediately caught my attention and became an addition to my collection from this expansion. You can check out the full collection of my favorite cards that I took from the Astral Radiance expansion packs below:
