About 4,000 police officers from different units will be on duty to ensure security in Nagpur during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the city tomorrow, officials said.

Ahead of Prime Minister Modi’s visit, top police officials reviewed security measures, they said on Friday.

Police with Special Protection Group (SPG) personnel will be conducting trails today, they said.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement in New Delhi that Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth Rs75 trillion during his second visit to the capital of Maharashtra.

Prime Minister will fly Vande Bharat Express flag (between Nagpur and Bilaspur) and launch phase I of Nagpur Metro.

The statement said Prime Minister Modi will also lay the foundation stone of Nagpur Metro Phase II, inaugurating the first phase of ‘Samruddhi Mahamarg’, connecting Nagpur and Shirdi, and dedicating to the nation an AIIMS (Institute All India Health Sciences) located in the MIHAN area of ​​the city.

PMO said that at a public function in Vidarbha city, the Prime Minister will launch and inaugurate railway projects worth more than Rs 1,500 billion.

According to the scheduled tour program shared by the local government, the Prime Minister will arrive at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur at 9:40 am from New Delhi and proceed to the city railway station, where he will Get off the Vande Bharat Express train.

At the end of the day, he will participate in various functions before going to Goa.

Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has finalized security arrangements under which some 4,000 staff will be deployed and they will be supported by Rapid Response Teams, Riot Control Police and Home Guards. , the officials said.

About 1,000 police officers will be individually deployed at the AIIMS facility, they added.
