PM Narendra Modi Flags Off Vande Bharat Express From Gandhinagar To Mumbai

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today raised the flag for the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express semi-high-speed train. Prime Minister Modi ordered the train from Gandhinagar Capital Railway Station at around 10:30 am. He then boarded the train to travel between Gandhinagar and Kalupur train station in Ahmedabad.

Here train, connecting the capital cities of Maharashtra and Gujarat, is the third Vande Bharat Express in the country. The first such train was started on the New Delhi-Varanasi line, while the second on the New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra line, an official said.

The train will offer passengers an airplane-like travel experience and advanced safety features including Kavach technology, a locally developed Train Collision Avoidance System, he said.

Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Superfast Express will start running commercially from October 1. It will operate six days a week except Sunday. The train will depart from Mumbai Central Station at 6:10am and arrive at Gandhinagar at 12:30pm. For the return journey, the train will depart from Gandhinagar at 2:05pm and arrive at Mumbai Central at 8:35pm.
It will stop at Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad stations in both directions.
The fare for the Mumbai-Ahmedabad journey by executive seat car will be Rs 2,505, while the fare for a seat car is Rs 1,385.
Railways has rescheduled the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express to accommodate the Vande Bharat Express.
The Vande Bharat Express is a semi-autonomous high-speed indigenously designed train consisting of 16 carriages. The train reaches a speed of 160 km / h in just 140 seconds and it offers more comfort to the passengers at 3.5 (steering index).
The train has a Control Management System for the train driver to monitor the air conditioning, communicate and feedback to the control center/maintenance personnel via GSM/GPRS. It is equipped with the Passenger Information System and infotainment system in each vehicle, the official said.
Equipped with automatic door entry with sliding foot and touchless sliding door inside the passenger car, the seats inside the executive class can be rotated.
This is the first train to have an aircraft-like bio-vacuum toilet with no-touch amenities and also has a special toilet for divyang (special aircraft) passengers. The seat handles are provided with seat numbers in Braille to assist passengers with visual difficulties.
The train is equipped with a Kavach (train collision avoidance) safety system.
The trainers have the emergency talk unit back.
Vessels with better flood resistance for electrical equipment installed below will withstand floods up to a height of 650 mm.
