PM Modi dials Uttarakhand CM Dhami, promises ‘all financial and technical support’ | India News

DEHRADUN: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a phone call with Uttarakhand prime minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday morning. France inform the Prime Minister about the situation in Josimath as well as restoration and arrangement plans are being worked on as some houses are developing cracks due to fears that the town is ‘sink’.
The Prime Minister is said to have told the CM that “any financial and technical assistance to help the people of Joshimath” would be provided.
Talking to TOI, Dhami said, “The Prime Minister is personally monitoring the situation as well as the safety and security work being done by the government in the region. He assured us of all possible help to save Joshimath.”
At the end of the day, the Prime Minister’s chief secretary, PK Mishraheld a high-level meeting to assess land subsidence in Joshimath.
Immediately after the meeting, the chief secretary with DGP Ashok Kumar went to Joshimath and interacted with state and police officials. The secretary said a team of expert scientists from around the country was working out what caused the land subsidence and would do “whatever is necessary”. He added that people’s safety is of utmost importance and local authorities are continuing to work for it. He also urged locals to “do not take risks under any circumstances” and has visited dangerous areas such as Manohar Bagh, Singhdhar and Marwadi.
