PM Modi and US President Biden reviewed India-US ties in meeting in Bali | India News


BALI: Prime minister Narendra Modi and the President of the United States Joe Biden on Tuesday reviewed the status of the India-US strategic partnership including in areas such as key and emerging technologies and artificial intelligence.

The MEA said the two leaders expressed satisfaction at the close cooperation between India and the US in new groups such as Quad and I2U2.

“Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets President of the United States, Joseph R Biden MEA said on the sidelines of the G-20 Leaders Summit in Bali today.
“They considered continuing to deepen the India-US strategic partnership, including cooperation in future-oriented areas such as key and emerging technologies, advanced computing, artificial intelligence, etc,” it said in a statement.
The MEA said the two leaders discussed topical global and regional developments.
PM Modi thanked President Biden for his frequent support of strengthening the India-US partnership. He expressed confidence that both countries will continue to maintain close coordination during India’s G-20 Presidency,” it said.
While the Quartet includes India, the US, Australia and Japan, the members of I2U2 are the US, the United Arab Emirates, and Israel.
India is currently part of the G20 Troika (current, past and upcoming G20 Presidents) which includes Indonesia, Italy and India.
The Prime Minister will attend the summit at the invitation of Indonesian President Joko Widodo. Indonesia is currently the chair of the G-20.
