PlayStation’s Bend Studio still works on new IP, introduces new logo

There are a few PlayStation studios that we haven’t heard much about, one of which is Days Gone developer Bend Studio. That changes today with a blog post detailing the history of Bend Studio and give a small hint of what the team is working on with its next project.

The post details the games Bend has developed over its nearly 30-year history, from the studio’s earliest days when it was called Blank, Berlyn, and Co., to the time it was called. was Eidetic when developing Bubsy 3D, the Siphon Filter Series, and more. There’s a lot of great studio history packed into it along with concept art and more. What’s next for Bend Studio, however, is what sets it apart from any series or franchise it’s ever made or created before.

“We’re currently working on a new IP that includes multiplayer and builds on Days Gone’s open-world system, but brings you a whole new world that we’re super excited to create. We can’t wait to reveal that to you as Kevin McAllister from Bend Studio writes.

This is the second time Bend mentioned his new project, with the first word coming from a tweet last year. While the studio’s next game won’t be Days Gone 2, nor a return of the Siphon Filter, it does at least appear to be learning and building on from previous works. Also, whether this new IP is part of Sony’s new initiative to further develop live service games remains to be seen.

Bend Studio also took the opportunity to debut a new logo in the blog post, which you can see above. The treatment of the logo is a nice design change from previous iterations as it is now modular and can be fitted to different aesthetics for a variety of occasions.
