PlayStation Stars, Sony’s New Loyalty Program, Now Available in North and South America

Sony has announced its new gaming loyalty program, PlayStation Stars, back in July, and the service is now live in North and South America. PlayStation users can sign up for the show for free, but there’s one big caveat.

PlayStation Stars allows players to earn points and digital collectibles by completing “campaigns,” from completing small objectives during gameplay to larger monthly challenges. Any PlayStation player can join Stars; You don’t need a Plus subscription.

Completing campaigns also elevates your Star Status, a promotion system consisting of four ranks. Everyone starts at Level 1, but doing things like buying games from PSN or earning certain rare trophies will level this up, increasing the quality of the rewards you earn.

Digital rewards, confirmed by Sony to be non-NFT and non-resellable, include older PlayStation consoles and characters from first-party titles. You can also redeem points to use as currency for your digital store wallet and to purchase DLC. Points remain available for 24 months once earned.

If you’re running to sign up now, there’s already a waiting list to join PS Stars. Sony states that new users will have to wait approximately two months after their registration date to be accepted into the program. It’s not clear why this is the case, but it’s safe to assume that Sony doesn’t want too many members at once as it gradually rolls out the program.

PlayStation Stars will launch in Europe, Australia and New Zealand next week on October 13. To learn more about the show, including helpful FAQs about the show, you can visit the website. Official program here.
