Players raid to cut Kenyan Drake, eat his $3.6 million salary

The Los Vegas Raiders broke up with a run back to Kenyan Drake. Former Alabama Crimson Tide standout must have been considered spendable by head coach Josh McDaniels and his staff as the Raiders appeared happy to eat his contract – which is not so delicious.

Based on ESPNThe Raiders are planning to eat off Drake’s $3.6 million salary this season and the $4.4 million he’ll count towards the cap in 2023. In total, the Raiders will lose $8 million In the salary cap, it’s a small peanut, but it’s very useful if an organization is in crisis.

Drake was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the third round of the 2016 NFL Draft and spent the first four years of his career in Miami, followed by two with the Arizona Cardinals.

Vegas signed Drake last spring and he played in 12 games for the Raiders, dashing 63 times in 254 yards and hitting the ground twice before breaking his ankle.

He came back from that injury and played in all three of Vegas’ pre-season games before being cut.

With Josh Jacobs, Brandon Bolden and rookie Zamir White all ahead of him on the depth charts, it’s probably best for Drake to take the money and run to greener, more abundant grasslands and run back to the lacking grasslands poor.
