Physical release of psychological horror RPG ‘Omori’ has been canceled

Physical releases have been going strong during the Switch generation, so this latest announcement is quite unique. Spanish publisher Meridiem Games has announced that it will actually be canceling the previously announced physical copy of the psychological horror RPG Omori.

This doesn’t just affect the Switch release, but the PlayStation 4 version as well. Here’s a rough translation of what happened out of context. Apparently it’s related to some “technical issues” related to the European localization process:

“We regret to inform you that the physical version of Omori for PS4 and SWITCH has been canceled by the development team due to technical issues related to multi-language localization for Europe. This news saddens us as much as it saddens you.”

While this isn’t good news for fans in Europe, the game is still available in other some parts of the world as a physical release. The RPG is also available directly on the Switch eShop, so if you’re done waiting, you can buy and play it now.

If we hear of any important developments, we will keep you informed.
